Some years ago God opened the door for us to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to His precious children residing in our nation’s rest homes and convalescent hospitals. Many of them are totally alone, with no family,and no one to come and visit them. For some, they are a forgotten generation and often times confused about where they are and unable to understand why they cannot go home.

Although many are born again believers in Christ, there are those who have never heard the gospel. There are also many who have trusted in what they thought to be Christian religions but were, in fact, cults. For these people, this will be their last opportunity to learn about Jesus; to discover just how much He loves them and to accept and believe in the sacrifice He made so that they might spend eternity with Him. This is their last chance for salvation.

Though their bodies may suffer the effects of arthritis and many other illnesses brought about by time, their minds are alert and their spirits attentive to the Word of God. It is such a joy to see them respond to the praise and worship music, especially the old gospel hymns, by clapping their hands and tapping their feet.

I ask you to remember these precious children of God in your prayers and, if the Lord should lay it on your heart, take some time to visit with them. Share the Lord with them; you will be blessed. You just may be the one God wants to use to bring a soul into His kingdom!
