 We have been a part of the ministry in Tecate, Mexico now for nineteen years. We have seen evidence of God’s grace on this ministry. What a blessing to see the growth and fruit that has been produced within the church, which we are so thankful to the Lord.
One example that I would like to share with you of how the Lord has provided much within the ministry is seeing the leadership step up when the needs arise. My Mother was very ill last year and Margie & I went back and forth to New Mexico a total of 10 weeks within 6 months helping her. She went to be with the Lord in September. Through this time of loss, it was rewarding to see how the Lord used the staff within the church to lead the flock. It was a confirmation of the growth that had occurred within the body. As of today, the Lord has given us two men that have the gift of teaching. They are Felipe and Freddy. My wife, Margie was blessed to have two women, Yolanda and Candie with hearts to serve within the Women’s Ministry. We also have many who volunteer their time in the Children’s Ministry and helping with the maintenance around the church. Our services take place on Sundays, Thursdays & Fridays. Sunday we start at 6:00 a.m. with prayer with staff. At 9:00 a.m. Felipe teaches the youth (ages 13 – 18). Services start at 9:30 a.m. Sunday evening we start at 3:00 p.m. with prayer and worship practice. Services start at 5:30 p.m. Thursday we have another service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a prayer meeting with the body. Fridays we have our women’s & men’s bible study which takes place at the same time. Every last Friday of each month, Freddy and his wife Myda teach the marriage class. Every other Saturday, Freddy & Myda lead a group to evangelize within our community. As you may know, all of my teaching is the same format as Calvary Chapel. One of the blessings of seeing growth within the church is a brother named Muricio. He was discipled for about 5 years and we saw so much growth that we gave him our blessing to move to Guadalajara and join the worship team and help with the evangelizing within their own community. We also have groups from the U.S. that come to help us, especially in evangelizing and outreach programs to the youth. As you know, serving a church has some difficult times and we see how Satan is real and wants to destroy this ministry. Through much prayer and dedication, God always prevails!
