Dimitry's story:
I came to Christ at the age of 18 meeting a pastor, Wade Freshour, his wife Connie and their co-labourer in Christ Christina Dixon at my university class. Pastor Gary Malkus used to call me 'propeller head', because I was studying quantum physics. I have to admit I didn't succeed much at it. Neither was it as fulfilling as the service to the Lord I quickly had a taste of after coming to Christ.
We were young and searching for meaning to life and were glad that Jesus found us through American missionaries serving short time as well as those who committed years of their life to serve in our country.
I met my wife Nadia at church, Calvary Chapel of Nizhny Novgorod. We became the first couple to attend Calvary Chapel Bible College in Moscow in 1999. Two years after graduation we were called to move to Kaluga, a city 8 hours away from our home town. God had blessed me and Nadia with 3 boys - Sergey, Eleah and Timothy. Our oldest son is in college. We are privileged to serve our little fellowship in Kaluga to this day.
As years went by I also started to some extent overseeing the work in Russian Calvary Chapels. Today I help churches with legal matters, finances and building the body of Christ in Russia serving the churches and pastors through Pastors' Conferences.
My heart is also in worship. Since my early years in Christ I have been helping with worship at my home church - Calvary Chapel Nizhny Novgorod. I am working with some more gifted musicians among Russian pastors recording worship music and encouraging the church in that ministry.
